Made from scratch.
Built with intention.
Ready for your home.
Hi — I'm Mya. Movement artist, self-taught maker, and the person behind every product in The Haus. I started Predominantly Black in 2019 with an inheritance from my late father, a kitchen in Los Angeles, and three scents: Subtle, Solitude, and Madness.
No business plan. No investors. Just a deep belief that the things we bring into our homes should be worth something — made well, from ingredients that don't require a disclaimer.
What we use
Every formula starts with certified organic, halal-compliant ingredients. No fillers. No fragrance blends that obscure what's actually inside. Our candles burn in a natural soy-coconut wax blend. Our body care is built on shea butter, plant oils, and botanicals we source with purpose.
I'm self-taught — which means I read everything, test constantly, and don't stop until the formula is right. I'm currently enrolled in the Herbal Academy studying perfumery, emulsifiers, and herbal formulations. Every product in The Haus exists because I made it work in the studio first.
The candles have burn times that hold. The scrubs have ratios that feel right on skin. The body butters whip to a texture that doesn't leave residue. That's not marketing — that's the result of doing it over and over until it's good.

PB is expanding into fine fragrance — perfume oils and perfumes launching in 2026. The scent work has always been here. Now it's getting its own line.
I'm also building NOT YOUR AVERAGE MAKER — a nonprofit that will offer free arts and science classes to kids in underserved neighborhoods across Los Angeles. That part of the work matters just as much as the products.
