So, You Bought A Soy Candle

So, You Bought A Soy Candle

First off, if you bought a soy candle from us thank you!!!

Secondly, let's get down to the facts. Many people want to buy a soy candle, coconut candle, or beeswax candle because they have just become informed about how harsh paraffin waxes are to the home and body however, soy is a commitment. Just like with any other natural, unprocessed matter soy can become temperamental,  require care specific care, and can look kind of strange at times depending on its environment.

There is a list of simple candle do's and don'ts, but I will save that for another post, here I'm going to break down some soy/ natural wax normalcies that you may not think are too normal.

  • Dependent upon the fragrance, soy can take on different hues of white, cream and sometimes yellow. Rest assured that this is due to the fragrance used and typically occurs with scents high in vanillin.

  • Keep your candle protected from light. We do not use additives or chemical stabilizers, which means that if exposed to long periods of UV light or fluorescent lighting your candle may turn yellow. None of which affects the performance of our product.

  • Soy is a living organism. It continues to expand, contract and change from its current form. It may also look frosted, it may curdle (usually after lighting), or have a few bubbles on top, these ‘flaws’ are normal and it is a clear indication that you have purchased a 100% all-natural candle.
